In seein Quantum for the first time I was absolutely upset by the very small lenght of the shots in the first sequences of the film and, above all for the darkness of most of them. Short shots + darkness = very little visual information resulting in high desorientation. As compared with, say the long action sequence in The Island, the corresponding squences in Quantum are very disappointing: they do not offer meaning nor they offer visual richness. Summing up, they are very bad. When Bond is chasing the rival agent the director could have presented an the following announce: Bound followed and killed him. That had have been enough, instead of visually perturbing the spectator with a series of not only saying-nothing but, even worst, showing-nothing shots.
