Matt Harris's comment:
This is an attempt at measuring the various shot lengths in a film which makes this task very difficult due to the incredible rapidity of much of its edits. The hope is that this data will verify the hypothesis that the extreme rapidity in certain portions establishes the dizzying experience of having gone to the Moulin Rouge, and that the more intimate, song portions are more slowly cut in order to place focus on the relationship between Satine and Christian.

As an addendum, as the data gathering was in the service of researching the use of the "Come What May" song, it's data was collected seperately. Thus the categories "CWM:A, CWM:D and CWM:S" stand for "Come What May: Action, Dialogue and Singing" respectively.
