Ian Jones's comment:
The following is a plotting of the shots of Hou Hsio-Hsien's Cafe Lumiere in terms of camera dynamics. The key to the seven categories used is as follows:

Static - Camera is completely static, in fixed position.

MR - Camera is in fixed position and there is only minor reframing.

MRw/P - The shot consists primarily of a static camera or only minor reframing, but is interrupted by, lead in to, or lead out with a major pan.

MRw/T+P - The shot consists primarily of a static camera or only minor reframing, but is interrupted by, lead in to, or lead out with a major tilt/pan combination.

Pan - Prominent pan(s), with either no tilts or only minor reframing tilts, from fixed camera position.

T+P - Prominment tilt(s) combined with prominent pan(s), from fixed camera position.

Irreg - Irregular (used only once in this film, for the opening title)
