a.k.a. Koroshi no rakuin. This stylized, modernist crime-noir directed by Seijun Suzuki alternates at times between frenetic gunplay and dialogue that gives true meaning to shot reverse shot, and abstract lingering shots of clocks, furniture and architecture. The final scene is reminiscent of the Hall of Mirrors scene from The Lady from Shanghai, but set in a darkened boxing hall.
