Torey Liepa's comment:
In this backstage Essanay comedy, Our Tramp creates chaos first at a talent agency and then on a film set. The editing seems to be equally chaotic, following the logic of each particular gag that is performed. Often, Chaplin lets the camera roll freely as he performs a lengthy one-shot gag. At other times, several cuts are employed during gags which involve characters moving from one set to another, usually because they have been hit, pushed, or kicked in that direction. The titles appear to be reconstructed, but they seem to adhere to the general style of the times, employing a greater number of dialogue titles, yet typically in the form of terse one-liners.
